The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is pushing for big changes to break up Google’s hold on search and search ads. They want to stop Google from making those huge payments to companies like Apple just to be the default search engine.

They suggest that Google separate its Chrome browser from the rest of the company since it drives much of its search business. Plus, they want Google to share more data with competitors so everyone can improve their services.

Advertisers might benefit from these changes, like more control over their campaigns and better pricing. But it could get tricky as the industry adjusts to more competition.

It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out!
