Google is experimenting with slipping ads into AI chatbot conversations.
This is pretty different from those regular ads you’re used to seeing in search results. Google’s trying to figure out how to naturally work sponsored content into the flow of your chats with AI assistants without making it feel annoying or out of place.
It’s a pretty smart move when you think about it.
More and more people are turning to AI chatbots for information instead of traditional searches, so Google needs to find new ways to keep those ad dollars flowing.
The whole thing is still in testing, but it could completely change how advertising works online. Imagine having a conversation with an AI about, say, hiking boots, and suddenly it’s mentioning a brand that “just happens” to be a sponsor.
Kind of sneaky, but also kind of clever, right?
If you’re in marketing or advertising, you might want to keep an eye on this. It could open up some interesting new ways to connect with potential customers in the future.
