Google plans to redirect all those country-specific domains like google.fr and google.ng to the main google.com. They’re doing this to create a more streamlined experience for users.

It’s a pretty interesting move!

Since 2017, they’ve been offering similar search results, whether you’re using the country-specific or the global one, so it makes sense that they’re considering cutting back on those separate domains.

For most of us, it shouldn’t be a big deal. You might have to re-enter some preferences or log in again during the transition, but overall, your search experience shouldn’t change much.

Marketers may notice slight shifts in how referral traffic comes in. Still, they expect it won’t impact how search works or affect any legal stuff.
