36% of people are now starting their searches on Pinterest instead of Google!
Wild, right?
The numbers are even higher for Gen Z, with about 4 out of 10 young users preferring Pinterest’s visual approach when looking stuff up online.
Why are people making the switch? A few reasons:
Pinterest is super visual, which makes it way more engaging when you’re browsing for fashion ideas, home decor inspiration, or lifestyle stuff. It’s just more fun to scroll through images than text results.
People also feel like Pinterest “gets them” better because the results seem more personalised and relevant to what they’re looking for.
Plus, there’s something about the user-generated content that feels more authentic. Like getting recommendations from friends rather than algorithms.
